Over 50 of the most beautiful and talented supermodels in the world are expected to appear at the brand's annual fashion show， including Alessandra Ambrosio， Adriana Lima， Candice Swanepoel and Lily Aldridge – all of whom have earned themselves superstar status within the industry by appearing repeatedly on lists of top-earning models.
The event is being described as "the biggest ever" with more than 800 people attending. It has been rumoured that the runway will feature a water show as well as performances from Jessie J 和 Pharrell Williams. Invitations were sent to local celebrities and socialites， as well as members of the press and industry insiders.
It comes amid reports of growing competition among lingerie brands in China’s multi-billion dollar market. Chinese retail experts predict that growth in luxury lingerie sales could outstrip demand for handbags and perfume by 2025.
“The popularity of the brand and its endorsement by local celebrities means that it can charge premium prices，” said one analyst. “But if you ask me if I think there is overcapacity in the high-end lingerie market， I would say ‘no way’ because they are now looking up， trying to increase their market penetration.
In March this year， Victoria's Secret expanded into 17 new doors across Beijing and Shanghai， bringing its total count in the two cities to 69 stores.
The brand's parent company， L Brands， also plans to open 50 stores in China before the end of 2017， taking its store footprint to nearly 200 locations.
